Zach Bridges is fast becoming a favorite on this season of NBC’s The Voice. Bridges, a member of Team Blake is one of only a handful of country artists still remaining in the competition.
Growing up Bridges sang off and on in Church, but baseball was his main focus. It wasn’t until he decided to give baseball up in college that he became serious about music. During his Blind Audition Bridges sang Coach Blake Shelton’s song “Old Red”. A song the talented artist has performed before. The performance cemented his spot on Team Blake.
“It was always going to be Blake Shelton. I’ve been a fan of Blake’s for a long time and I grew up listening to him. [So I went with Blake because of the Country Music connection and the fact that I’ve been a fan for a long time,” said Bridges.
During the Battle Rounds Bridges faced off against fellow Country Artist Cory Jackson. The pair sang “Shod’ve Been A Cowboy” by Toby Keith. Bridge’s unique country sound allowed him to win the Battle and advance to the Knockout Rounds.
“Zach you do have this big baritone voice and it’s commanding... I’m just going to go with a gut feeling you guys really shocked me. The winner of this battle is Zach... I feel like Zach has that deeper voice that we don’t hear a lot on The Voice and it provides an opportunity for somebody to try some things that’s never been done before on this show,” Shelton said after Jackson and Bridge’s performance during the Battle Rounds.
Bridges found his way to The Voice with the help of his wife. It was his wife that signed him up for the show and started the talented artist on his Voice journey. While on The Voice Bridges hopes to be able to grow his fan base.
“I hope I can build a big following. Big enough to allow me to do music full-time,” said Bridges.
When on stage Bridges sings with a lot of freeing with he goal of making a connection with the audience. Tune in to The Voice to see what Bridges will sing next.
