Dexter Roberts Feels Blessed to Be On The Voice
Country artist Dexter Roberts continues ti impress on season 16 of the Voice. With his Blind Audition and his Battle Round victory the talented artist has proved he is a front runner to win the show.
For his Blind Audition Roberts sang “Like A Cowboy” by Randy Houser. All four coaches turned their chairs for the talented artist. Roberts chose to learn from country superstar Blake Shelton. Robert’s Blind Audition video has surpassed the 2 million views mark on youtube, making it one of the most watched videos this season. The support from his fans has meant everything to Roberts.
“It’s crazy [that the video has over 2 million views]. My sister sent me a text the other day and I was shocked. I am super blessed,” said Roberts.
During the battle rounds Roberts faced off against fellow country artist Dalton Dover. Shelton gave the pair “Hurricane” by Luke Coombs. Roberts commanded the stage with his country twang. While both Dover and Roberts were able to put their best performance forward Shelton chose Roberts as the winner of the Battle Rounds.
“[The Battle Rounds were] amazing. I was super blessed [to win against Dalton. It took a lot of practice, it was crazy,” said Roberts.
It’s no secret that a lot of the country artists end up choosing Blake Shelton as their coach. Shelton has a lot of country music wisdom to share and the artists know it. For Roberts it has been a dream to be able to work with the country music superstar.
“It’s been awesome working with Blake. It is a true blessing. He started out where I started and I think that’s really cool,” said Roberts.
New this season for the crosshair battles. During this round Roberts faced off against Team Adam’s Andrew Jannakos and sang “Believe” by Brooks and Dunn. The results of the voting will be revealed live tomorrow on NBC The Voice.
The winner of the crosshair battle will be voted by America. The winner will advance and the loser will have the opportunity to be saved by their coach or stolen by another. IF you would like to see Roberts continue on in the competition remember to vote.
